What you need to know about the 2021 Portsmouth Halloween Parade?

When is it? Is it happening?

YES! After taking 2020 off for everyone’s safety, the parade is back this year. We march rain or moonshine. Always on Oct 31. Always at 7pm.

What should I do if I want to march in the parade?

You should arrive on Pierce Island at 6pm. We march at 7pm. Also check out our full rules here as well as the map of our route.
There will be port-o-potties on the island for those that need them. As you come over the bridge, we ask large groups to gather on the right and smaller groups and individuals to gather on the left. Marshals will be on hand if you have questions. The marshals are carrying the PHP flags.

What is the deal with parking downtown?

The easiest way to park downtown for the parade is to head to one of the garages in town. The Foundry Place Garage has a special $3 flat fee from 5pm to 10 pm. The High/Hanover Street garage, Worth Lot, and Bridge Street Lot all have normal rates.

On-street parking is banned along the parade route from Marcy Street – Daniel Street to Market Square, and continuing along Congress to Fleet, to State Street and back to the start. The parking ban will last from 5 pm to 10 pm and the street closures from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Check out full details of the street closures from the City of Portsmouth.
