Parade Route Changing for 2018

We have a MAJOR announcement: After careful coordination and discussion with the City, the Portsmouth NH Police Department, and the City of Portsmouth New Hampshire Fire Department, we are modifying our parade route to ensure the safety of our spectators and participants.

What’s changing? The parade will no longer proceed down Bow and Market Street, and instead shamble, crawl, and stagger down Daniel Street into Market Square. This new route allows better and faster access to first responders should (gods forbid) the need arise.

We know many of you plan your evening around amazing, local establishments like the Seacoast Rep, Surf Portsmouth, The River House, Pocos Bow Street Cantina, The Dolphin Striker, Fat Bellys Grill & Bar, The Portsmouth Brewery, Portsmouth Gas Light Co., and Cup of Joe. We have reached out to the establishments impacted by the route change and thanked them for 24 years of amazing support for the Parade. We encourage all of you to continue planning your evening around those establishments, and leave yourself enough time to make it to the new route.

What’s not changing? Everything else. We are still the same grassroots, all-inclusive celebration of community, creativity, and free expression that walks, stalks, dances, trumpets, and drums its way through downtown Portsmouth each year on Octobre 31st AT 7pm.

From our little black hearts, see you there.
