The cleanup is open to the public and bags\, and gloves will be provided. \nCostume Paddle Contest: Open to all paddle craft\, this freakishly fun paddle will depart from the Pierce Island boat ramp. While participating in this leisurely paddle parade\, participants will have a chance to shock\, spook\, and delight our costume judges for a chance to win some amazing prizes! \nRegistration for this event is $15 for SPC members and $25 for non-members and all proceeds go directly to supporting the Portsmouth Halloween Parade. \nRegister Now

Half the event proceeds directly benefit the Portsmouth Halloween Parade and their outsized volunteer effort to put on one of the City’s best annual events. \nABOUT WOLFDOR\nWolfdor (Portsmouth\, NH) was founded in 2022 by Emerson Onosko (keys/vox)\, Eric Portalupi(guitar/bass)\, Kevin Rees(bass/guitar)\, and Craig Carrier(drums). The four-man band brings an ethereal medley of funk-rock\, grunge\, and alternative pop\, culminating in a low-gravity sound with a dreamlike quality. Wolfdor’s songs shift between eerie and playful\, with lyrics that pull you along through brightly shifting melodies. The synergy between words and notes is joyful\, producing a sound that clearly demonstrates how much fun the musicians are having in their creative process. \nCollectively\, what emerges is the musical equivalent of a camera left open before a flowing river. The overexposure has been employed to brilliant effect\, where fluid melodies mesh together and the sun reflecting off the rocks has saturated the image\, softening the edges with a bright and shiny quality. Despite their pleasant nature\, the lyrics are rife with metaphor\, humor\, and philosophy. In this way\, the aesthetic betrays an unknowable depth\, like crystalline pools that hide below the river’s surface. As snow-melt in the White Mountains\, the water is cold and crystal clear. These pools appear shallow\, but eyes and ears can be deceiving. If you attempt\, perhaps you’d reach the bottom\, who could say? Dive in\, I bid you. Feel the river. Feel the sun and play. And feed the wolf that’s at your door or bring him in to stay. \nABOUT THE PORTSMOUTH HALLOWEEN PARADE\nMarching into its 29th year\, the Portsmouth Halloween Parade is a grassroots\, all-inclusive celebration of community\, creativity and free expression that walks\, stalks\, dances\, trumpets and drums its way through downtown Portsmouth each year on October 31st at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to dress up\, gather at Pierce Island by Prescott Park\, and march. No sign-up required. The Parade is NOT a city-sponsored event. It is entirely funded and put on by the community\, which rallies a number of benefits to raise funds to cover expenses of insurance\, permits and police escort. DESCRIPTION:Seacoast Paddleboard Club has teamed up with the Portsmouth Halloween Parade to host the 6th Annual Halloween Costume Paddle Contest & Park Cleanup at Peirce Island on Sunday\, October 29\, 2023 at 10am. \nPeirce Island Cleanup: In an effort to protect our playground\, SPC will host a one hour island cleanup from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The cleanup is open to the public and bags\, and gloves will be provided. \nCostume Paddle Contest: Open to all paddle craft\, this freakishly fun paddle will depart from the Pierce Island boat ramp at 11:00 am.
